Some say time, some say hours, some say it's an American action drama television series in which each season covers 24 consecutive hours in the agent Jack Bauer's life. Yes, 24 makes us think about time.
The thing is that we all; everywhere in the world have 24 hours per day. And every new day, it is there again for you and it's totally free. But the thing is that despite you get it for free, it's you who decide how to fill those hours within the boundaries presented to you. So the main question is... what do you do with your "free" time?
the 24 model and how to use it:
Everyday, we decide what we do with our time. In a working environment you might question if it's really you who manages your own agenda or do you get managed. Many of us complain about too many meetings; too much mail, ...
I was flabbergasted when I heard that 77% of the people in the UK feel that a productive day is getting through their email.
So, here's a model that will help you decide doing what you need to do.
Step 1: note down the activities that you do in a time span of 2 weeks
Step 2: define whether the activities are essential or optional
Step 3: define whether the activities serve a short term win or a long term goal
Become aware of your own activities and find out if they help to achieve what you aim to achieve
Make more conscious decisions about what you do in your work time
