Growth within people and organizations

I like to draw a parallel between how a person grows in their career and how an organization grows. Is it exactly the same? Of course not, but you could still see similarities. Startups want to bring added value but often still seek how they can do that at scale and, of course, must first survive. The same applies to someone who is just out of school. We want to contribute, but soon we realize that we still have a lot to learn. I wrote a blog post about this some time ago: Grow Sustainable Organizations.

Acknowledging where you are is important, and I especially want to emphasize that the state you are in is absolutely not wrong. It is important to know where you are so that you know where you can evolve to. It is always an evolution...
