Society, and thus by default also what happens inside organisations, is moving towards strong opinionated wording, rather than seeing facts as valuable in the discussion.
We’ve learned the hard way that organisations are transforming. During our career we’ve seen accelerators help organisations move towards more social-minded organisations because teamwork makes the dreamwork. But recently, the era of the individual starplayer is arrived, with those stars packed with tools and buzzwords to bring enlightenment… or not? Doing the right things still matters and when you solely start trusting tools that sometimes hallucinate, you might end up building the wrong thing. People’s opinions matter and they go hand in hand with facts. That is why availability is important. You have to make yourself available for others in order to build good relationships. Available not only means time, but it means being available to receive feedback, to own your mistakes, to show humility. Being available, as coined by Simon Sinek, takes courage. Because being unavailable is much easier: smokescreens, walls, … So, are you willing to discuss and NOT hide your flaws? This is where you open the gates to create collaboration and co-creation, this is where you start to align. And through this is all, you find that unity we all look for when working together. Today is still not about the starplayers, today is still very much about one unity. Keep creating that together through your availability.
